My Blog is Back!! Well, Mostly
My idiot human deleted my entire blog a couple of weeks ago. FOR THE SECOND TIME. This is beyond idiocy, this is complete and utter disrespect. I have been whining and crying about this blank blog for a while now, and finally today she had time to deal with it.
Checked internet archives first, nothing at all for BoogerTheCat.com except for a robots.txt file. What good is that?? My blog has been online for a year and internet archives has absolutely nothing!
Checked iGoogle for RSS feeds, nothing at all except the new Hello World! post. Who cares about that??
Today she happened to open up NetNewsWire on the Mac. Lo and behold, it had the last 10 posts!! No photos, videos or comments, but it’s a start. So here I am, back online, live, big and proud! For the last 10 posts anyway.
I will try to add photos and video over time.
*******
If anyone has an archive of the KITTY ROLL page and can send it to me, I will love you forever and link to you endlessly.
Thanks!
Boogs

Who was your web host? They may have copies of your old blog as well in the data base. It appears that you are using Wordpress (nice theme by the way–it’s the one we use!) and I know that other WP users who have lost databases were able to get them back from the host. Or were you the cat who lost the photos?

It was GoDaddy and is now HostGator. Somebody “forgot” the files hadn’t been transferred to the new hosting account yet and deleted them. That’s what you get for not finishing a job the same day you start it. GoDaddy may have the backup if the database hasn’t been deleted, but they charge $300 for it. We are going with plan “B” on this one: scrounge photos, beg for links, comments and info and chalk it up to a learning experience.

UGH! I know that we have had good luck with hostgator in general (and they are way cheaper than godaddy). Good luck with the new blog and finding things. I probably wouldn’t pay for the back search. I do know that friends have lost things on Hostgator and been able to get them back at no charge..!
