UGH! I know that we have had good luck with hostgator in general (and they are way cheaper than godaddy). Good luck with the new blog and finding things. I probably wouldn't pay for the back search. I do know that friends have lost things on Hostgator and been able to get them back at no charge..!

It was GoDaddy and is now HostGator. Somebody "forgot" the files hadn't been transferred to the new hosting account yet and deleted them. That's what you get for not finishing a job the same day you start it. GoDaddy may have the backup if the database hasn't been deleted, but they charge $300 for it. We are going with plan "B" on this one: scrounge photos, beg for links, comments and info and chalk it up to a learning experience. :)

Who was your web host? They may have copies of your old blog as well in the data base. It appears that you are using Wordpress (nice theme by the way--it's the one we use!) and I know that other WP users who have lost databases were able to get them back from the host. Or were you the cat who lost the photos?
